Dear Sue, This is Gracie Rose writing. I wanted to let you know that today, on my very first birthday I am thinking of all of you, and I’m remembering what a wonderful first family you, Mom Gracie, Dad Mikey, all the High Calling cocker doggies, and the entire Martin family were for me while I was there with all of you. It has been a good year here with my new family here in Connecticut. They say that I’m very sweet, just gorgeous, and quite well behaved. They promise to write and send you some updated pictures very soon. Hope you are doing well. Please give Gracie and Mikey a great big kiss from me and tell them not to forget me. Love, Gracie Rose PS – I have overheard them all talking about another puppy coming here sometime - do you know anything about that?

Dear Sue, Greetings from Old Greenwich, Connecticut! I think of you often and wanted to let you know that Gracie Rose (we really call her Gracie most of the time now, and Gracie Rose just now and then) is doing beautifully. She’s a happy well-adjusted puppy and has truly exceeded our expectations in terms of how easily she fit right in to our household. It’s like she’s always been here. Everywhere she goes she draws attention and receives the nicest compliments. My piano students and their families love her. Afternoons here are like Grand Central Station with students coming and going. Gracie Rose likes to be right in the living room with me. She bounces merrily over to the front door to greet everyone, tail wagging, NEVER barks at visitors (which I am really delighted about), then plops down right at my feet while I teach. Last night we came home from our week in Colorado and it was our first time leaving her. My aunt’s wonderful dogsitter came to live here at the house with Gracie so I could let her stay here at home and not have to board her in a kennel. She was in very good hands and the reports from the dogsitter were that Gracie was a good little girl, full of beans, loves to play, and very sweet. We were all SO happy to see her again and judging from the tail-wagging and kisses, Gracie was happy to have her family home. I’ll get some pictures sent to you soon. We are still hoping for a little boy from you next year when you breed Sophie to Cubby. (Did I get that right?) And congratulations on Gracie’s upcoming litter. I can’t wait to see those puppies. What colors do you expect from them? Hope all is well with you and the whole Martin clan!

Dear Mrs. Martin, This is Kelly writing. I wanted to say thank you for taking care of Gracie for us until we got her. We love her so much and we know that we are the luckiest people in the world to have a dog like Gracie. We play with her outside a lot. And when we play with her inside we play games with her toys. She is so good and so sweet. We are hugging and kissing her all the time and it is so cute how she walks. She kind of bounces. She loves it when my mom brushes her. She can sit and give us her paw when we tell her to. She is definitely very smart and we will keep teaching her lots of different things. We all want another puppy so Gracie can have a little puppy friend to play with and I am hoping that we get it from you because you are a wonderful breeder. That’s all for now. I will write again soon. Love, Kelly J

Dear Mrs. Martin, This is Kelly. I wanted to say hi and tell you that my mom is taking me to the dog show in New York tomorrow. She is letting me take the day off school. I can’t wait to see all the cute cocker spaniels and other dogs. We have to get up very early because we are taking the train in. It will be on TV at night if you want to watch it. I hope all your puppies are good. I will tell my mom to send you a picture of Gracie Rose soon so you can put a new one on her page. Love, Kelly PS – Gracie Rose is the best dog ever!!
