A Simple Message From Your Pet

To have loved and said farewell is better
than to have never loved at all.
For all the times that you stooped and touched our heads,
fed us our favorite treats
and returned the love that we so unconditionally gave you.
For the care you gave us so unselfishly,
for all those things we are grateful and thankful.
We ask that you grieve not for the loss,
but rejoice in the fact that we lived,
loved and touched each others lives.
Our lives were fuller because you were there,
not as an owner, but as our friend.

Today, we are as we were in our youth.
The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers,
and the sun shines gently upon all God's creatures.
We can run, jump and play and do all the things that we did in our
youth.
There is no sickness, no aching joints, no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions,
and we know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts, as we do in yours.
Companions such as you are rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like us, and we will live forever.
